The Pittsburgh Panthers played football at Forbes Field from 1909 to 1924 under Coach “Pop” Warner. Forbes Field is probably best known as the home to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bill Mazeroski’s World Series winning home run. Pitt Stadium was home to the Pittsburgh Panthers from 1925 to 1999 and was located where the Petersen Events Center now stands. The Pittsburgh Panthers now share Heinz Field on the North Shore with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
